Hi, my name is Abby. I am in 7th grade and in junior high. But I am not like all my friends, my dad is the vice principal, Mr. Carter, of the junior high that I attend. his can be convenient at times, but it can also be very awkward. For LA, my teacher is having us do a discovery project. All the 7th graders are doing this project on whatever their heart desires. Here is a link to the website that has all the 7th grade projects on it. http://vandenbergprojects.weebly.com/
My dad took the job as assistant principal when I was in first grade. It was cool then. He took us to lots of the games and we got to run around the school. He bought me a cheerleading uniform, so I could sit and cheer with the cheerleaders at basketball games. I got to go to the school dances when my dad had to chaperone them. I also liked being able to go into the office and get candy from the secretary.
However, this year I left the elementary school and became not only his daughter, but also one of his students. His job is a little less cool now! I had hoped that there would be some perks to having him there like he would tell me my classes and my team early, but he refused to tell me even though he knew. He thought it was funny and teased me constantly. I also thought it would be nice to ride to school everyday with him, not that I had a choice. However, he often has early morning meetings and I have to be at school super early. I also have to stay late if I can't get a ride home afterwards.
It is not all bad having him there, but I also don't know when or how I will be embarrassed.
Here is a family picture from Christmas of my dad, mom, brother, sister and me.
